Pearl

Pearl

I was once a boy
Who met a girl
And fell in love with her smile
Now I am a man
Who will never let it go

Were I an artist
I would be unable to imitate her joy
No one can do her smile better than her
Pearl white and bright
It lights up her eyes
And sends my heart beat racing

It is the spark of light
When I have found darkness
My ray of sunshine
On a gloomy day

Her laughter
Is my life’s thrive
Her lips
Slightly parted
My beast’s beckoning

She is already giving me wrinkles
Worth having
It is smile for all seasons
In winter
She warms me with it
In spring
It blooms
Like fresh flowers
In the Summer
It is bright and blinding
And in the fall
It is my cozy walk with her
Amongst the many changing colors

Her smile is delicate
And crooked perfection
It is hers
And she offers it to me
And so it is mine

Revolve

Revolve

With infinity before us
I smile
My fingers brushing yours
Pondering our unique perfection

Your kind eyes
And wounded heart
Have stolen my breath
And I gladly allow your thievery

They say never fall in love with a poet
Because their words are sometimes lies
An unachievable imagined future
But that is why I want to write the next stanza with you
A canvass that we both paint together
A story we share
I want your hand guiding my heart, pen, and brush

You have become the center of my solar system
I crave your voice, your hair, your mouth
Food is no longer my nourishment
You are my hunger and happiness
My future kingdom
My yellow and shining sun
Giving me hope
And even brighter possible tomorrows

This love
So fragile and tender
It is us
Do we see forever in one another’s eyes
The answer is irrelevant
For all that matters is now
And your smile
