Pondering

“Pondering”

Her laughter and smile is broken by the momentary pause of contemplation
She gets lost in the thought of us
Of her
Of what’s next
That’s when my heart skips the quickest

In that moment
When neither of us utters a word
And the only sounds that can be found
Are the waves crashing on the nearby shore as the wind races around us
I get lost too
I am pulled in by her soft green eyes
And I wonder how long I will be allowed to pretend they are mine

They say that nothing good ever comes from a girl with beautiful eyes
But I have already been swallowed by that possible curse
I am at the edge
Practically willing to jump
She stares right through me and burns my soul

My world and hers are littered with the remnants of our yesterdays
Our lives are sweet pieces of candied covered chaos

Broken parts of each us seem to fit
They are pressed into one another in a nearly perfect way

We are a puzzle coming together
And it all starts with that first piece
Those amazing soft green eyes
The ones pondering what to do next

Lighthouse

“Lighthouse”

She lay soft beneath me and my hesitation
Even in the shadowed dark of the midnight hour
I could still see her blue eyes sparkle

She played patient
But her racing heartbeat betrayed her desire

I was born again
Exploring the smooth skin of desperate need
Both hers
And mine

In a world of chaos, she broke through the fog
Giving me the chance to both forget and remember yesterday

Her lips traced mine with a silken touch
And we melted into the wild bliss of seduction
My hands no longer careful
My fingers danced across her perfect skin
Pressing hard with each of my panted breaths

I could care less of the aches I would find in the morning
I was desperate for her peak
Willing to ignore mine

She would be sated
And in turn
so would I

perfect moments in color

"perfect moments in color"

my feet dangled
in the soft wet water
as she slept on my lap
this was tomorrow
our forever
the perfect love
even with the sun fading
i knew
i would never forget this color of blue

Santa Monica

"Santa Monica"

As the morning fog slowly lifted They rose from their slumber
Slowly crawling atop the earth to the edge
They fought against the sand and extinction as it sucked their soft feet into it's depths

Eventually they overcame the thick travel and found themselves tiptoeing at the waters touch Smiling, most knew they taunted wondering eyes
Never intending more than an ankle deep dip
They lowered their towels onto the sand as if a prepping a curtain on a stage

When one vanished into the call of beyond the beach and the real world
Another or twelve easily replaced them

Wave upon wave of beauty slapped at the sand with well oiled and sometimes overlooked skin
They lay there Roasting, Tantalizing and perfect
Occasionally turning as if they were on an invisible spit

First they arrived staggered in time Solitary and bronzed
A determined blonde here and yawning brunette there
Soon they flocked like a mass of seagulls begging for the kiss of the pacific waters and the baking sun

And all the while I remained a willing witness enjoying this ritual offering of Santa Monica
