Perplexity's Kiss

She smiles

Staring curiously

Wondering where his mind

Is wandering

He turns away

After she catches

That coy look

He always has

When she questions tomorrow

They are

Fragile

Tender

Hopeful

Guarding their bruised hearts

Not knowing the questions

They have

Yet willing to ride the breeze

And bathe in the sunlight

Of one another’s affections

She is worth it

He is worth it

Can they be worth it

She smiles
